Coba: The Ancient Capital of the Mayan Jungle
Cobá is an archaeological treasure hidden deep within the tropical rainforest. Unlike other Mayan cities, Cobá consists of a vast network of stone causeways (sacbés) that connect different residential groups to the majestic Nohoch Mul, one of the tallest pyramids in the Yucatán Peninsula. Its jungle setting offers a cooler, shaded experience and the unique opportunity to explore the ruins by bicycle or "Mayan taxi" (tricycles).
